Bob Herbert a columnist for The New York Times Op-ed today is titled “Paterson on the Brink”. In his column he asks some very tough questions of Governor Paterson.
New York’s Governor Paterson and some in his administration seem to be shielding one of his closest advisors David Johnson from an ugly domestic violence issue.
Mr. Johnson violated his longtime companion by stripping off most of her clothes, choking her, slamming her against a dresser and preventing her from calling for help. And the hierarchy of the New York State government is protecting Mr. Johnson.
How can Governor Paterson criticize Hiram Monserrate who was expelled from the State Senate after being convicted for a misdemeanor assault for dragging his companion down an apartment building hallway and protect Mr. Johnson?
Governor what are you thinking? Domestic Violence is wrong no matter who the abuser is or how much power they have!
