Yesterday I talked about the inspirational message for week 4 of The Business of Me, “Standing Tall And Proud” (http://www.thebusinessofme.com/the-business-of-me-blog.php). Today I am going to tell you Latisha's story. Latisha is a participant in The Business of Me who transformed from a wilting wall flower into a beautiful flower.

When I met Latisha at the first weekly session she tried very hard to hide.  She kept her head down, her clothes were wrinkled, her hair wasn't combed and she projected an “I do not care about me "attitude.

As the weeks progressed and we discussed our fears and how to deal with them, positive affirmations, how to take care ourselves, how to develop a budget based on the goals we set for our future, I could see Latisha transforming. Her appearance gradually changed - her clothes were neat, she styled her hair and she even gave herself a manicure.  She even contributed to the meetings.  At the last session after we celebrated the participants’ success Latisha gave me a handmade flower to show her appreciation, I still have the flower.

Latisha was embracing The Business of Me and it showed – she was able to “Stand Tall and Proud”.

The Business of Me helps survivors “Stand Tall and Proud”.
